Obituary:
Anthony S. “Tony” Taylor, 42, of Naples passed away February 7, 2010. Born in Huntington, WV, Tony had been a resident of Naples since 2007, having moved from Winchester, VA. While in Winchester, he had been an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Naples and was an honorably discharged veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
Tony was a loving husband and an amazing father. He was both an inspiration and a hero to all he met. He knew and loved people of all ages, all over the world. He was more than just a coach or a leader. Tony brought passion and taught life lessons to anything he undertook. He touched many lives throughout his life, both personally and through his music. Tony was a great singer with an awesome voice but what made his vocal style so outstanding and unique was the way he always put so much heart, soul, and feeling into his songs and performances. Even if he was simply covering a song, Tony always managed to make it sound like his own. His recordings and lyrics will always remind us of what an unbelievable person and blessed musician he was.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Charry; his son, Tanis; daughter, Tasmin; his mother, Delores Dixon; and brothers, Todd (Kim) Taylor, Shawn (Emily) Taylor, and Shane (Crystal) Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Taylor; and his grandparents, Virgil and Virginia Taylor and Lewis and Eupha Jarvis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 12th at 10:00 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, 750 Seagate Dr., Naples. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to Rosario Taylor for the benefit of Tanis and Tasmin and mailed to P. O. Box 12162, Naples, FL 34101.
